About Us

At barbie b we have a passion for fashion that spans over 40 years.  My first job out of college was with Hecht’s, part of the May Department Stores, where I spent 12 years working in their buying, public relations and fashion offices.  My mom, Joyce, got her start in the industry working for her in-laws at their millinery stores in Baltimore. She then went on to work in bedding and bath accessories, before landing at Saks Fifth Avenue.  Together, we make a dynamic mother/daughter team.

Since its inception in 2000, barbie b has expanded and evolved. We jumped on a wide array of goods in our early days and carried products ranging from dog accessories to kitchen products to bath and body lotions.  But over the course of the last 18 years, we have paid close attention to what our customers were looking for and we have found our niche.  barbie b’s focus now is on clothing, handbags, jewelry, reading glasses and a small array of unique gift items.  We personally do all of the sourcing and buying so we are constantly on the lookout for vendors and products we know our customers will love.  We are always scouting and buying the newest trends so that our shoppers have the hottest items.

We are grateful for the loyalty and support of our customers, many who have shopped with us since we got our start. To show our appreciation, we make donations to a wide assortment of non-profit organizations they support. We are extremely proud of contributions to the community we live and do business in and just as we appreciate our shoppers; we appreciate the importance of giving back.

Riley, my golden retriever, eagerly greets shoppers and makes an excellent model. He can often be seen in photos wearing our readers, necklaces and scarves. In return, he asks for nothing more than a kiss and a cookie.

We pride ourselves on personal attention and are happy to help you with all of your shopping.  Please do not hesitate to call or to make an appointment to shop with us.  You can also catch us at one of the many shows throughout the year.  Watch our website, and Facebook page for frequent updates.
